Toxic Mold Show

Posted in Blogroll at 18:20 by str8talk

The response to the show on toxic mold has been tremendous. One of the absolutes is that if you are chronically sick with something that the doctors cannot seem to diagnose you should look into the possibility of mold exposure. Click on the page to link to the three stages of illness associated with toxic mold exposure as taken from the Journal of Environmental Biology 23(3) 301-320 (2002), an article entitled “Clinical confirmation of trichothecene mycotoxicosis in patient urine”. I have not included the entire article but included the stages of illness.

Dr. William Croft was my guest and is a pathologist in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a world renown expert on toxic mold and the pathology of disease it causes. He mentioned that he has developed strips that you can lay down on the floor of your home or workplace for a short period of time and send to him for analysis. He will be able to tell if mold is present and what kind. He also mentioned he is able to do urinalysis as well as analyzing a white t-shirt that is worn. Airborne mold sticks to your clothing. You actually take it home with you!

Dr. Croft can be reached at doccroft@hotmail.com or you can contact him at 608-274-1618 from Tuesday to Friday and Monday call 715-757-3756.

Parenting Advice

Posted in Blogroll at 14:11 by str8talk

This information is gathered from the many listeners who e-mailed after the show. My heart went out to my last caller who truly wanted guidelines for his 13 year old. Here are some of the suggestions for information. As I mentioned on the show the book by Meg Meeker, Strong Father’s Strong Daughters is an excellent book. A listener Tammy recommended the CD series To Have And To Hold by Richard Wheeler. Many listeners recommended the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Josh Harris as well as various publications by Doug Phillips.

Putting much thought into how you want your child to value themselves and KNOWING they are too young to do many of the things that society is promoting them to do, I think is key. Making some of the decisions for them until they are old enough to act responsibly for themselves is important. Protect your children from bad things that can happen when there is no supervision. There is NO downside to this! Don’t think that responding to that “little voice inside” telling you to parent is just not with the times. Your parenting voice should be listened to and acted on.

Many of the books come from a religious perspective. If you are not religious read them anyway you might get some good ideas; things you hadn’t thought of.

Most importantly pray with and for your children. Ask God to be with them and help them to make good choices on their life’s journey.

God Bless

Kathy

An Important Message From Rachel Ehernfeld

Posted in Blogroll at 23:38 by str8talk

This Sunday, January 13th at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of the New York Public Library, 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue, I urge you to attend a bi partisan news conference by New York State Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Assemblyman Rory I. Lancman where they will announce legislation designed to protect journalists, author and publishers s from lawsuits filed outside the U.S. by foreign nationals seeking to muzzle the First Amendment rights of American citizens, particular those reporting on terrorism and its financiers.

This effort comes on the heels of a New York Court of Appeals ruling that has stunned many in the legal, media, and publishing community.
The court held it could not protect New York author Rachel Ehrenfeld from a British lawsuit she lost by default filed by Saudi billionaire Khalid Salim bin Mahfouz where she was ordered to pay over $225,000 for detailing in her book how Bin Mahfouz, and some of his family, are allegedly tied to funding terrorist organizations. Bin Mahfouz used the U.K. legal system to obtain more than 36 similar judgments, affecting the U.S. media.

Ms. Ehrenfeld sought a court order to protect her Constitutional rights, but in a ruling with First Amendment implications sending legal shockwaves throughout newsrooms across America, as well as potentially undermining our ability to expose terrorism’s financial and logistical support networks of our enemies, the New York Court of Appeals ruled that it does not have jurisdiction to protect Americans – on U.S. soil – from a foreign defamation verdict.

The two lawmakers, Ehrenfeld, and members of the bar, will warn that without this legislation, the contents of the New York Public Library could be subject to assault by off shore nationals seeking to silence public debate in America. Your participation would add enormously to this effort and underscore the gravity of the threat.
