Message via e-mail from Lt. Col. Sparacino:
Sorry for the poor connection. My sister stated I lost connection as I was stating one of the most rewarding moments I’ve had while here at Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan. Well its always a Kodak moment when you see the look on childrens faces when we build a school, open it, provide Afghan teachers, furnish it with desks, books, pens, paper. All the things we take for granted, the children of Afghanistan just don’t have. When we provide the means for Afghans to construct their own well, thus providing water for crops and basic life support; we earn their respect and gratitute for a safer community. The key to Afghanistan’s success is in their children, who mostly speak English very well. They are the future so we place a lot of emphasis on schools. We are very careful to ensure we place an Afghan face on everything we do, this builds confidence among themselves towards the police, the army and most importantly, the Government. Thank You for this opportunity to speak on your show, for allowing me to express my Love for my wife Rebecca, my children and my family.
